In honor of Sophia A. Nelson’s Black Woman Redefined being in print for five years, the Author and Speaker hosted a Twitter chat last night with Actor, Husband and Father Dondre’ Whitfield to talk about #BlackLove and #Manhood.
It was a good chat that should open up conversations among men and women about what’s needed to cover and love their mate. Here were a couple of the highlights:
[bctt tweet=”When a man doesn’t cover his woman properly she feels the need to cover herself! #BlackLove #Manhood ” username=”bliss_bcs”]
The quote about was from Dondre’ Whitfield. The lack of covering has been a major issue in the Black community, and it speaks to the lack of protection and respect between our men and women. We all know a woman who has felt this way and unfortunately, it’s an all too familiar sight in our community based on social media and society in general.
So what is to be done? Whitfield believes in training up young and older men to do better by their women. He is a co-founder of The Manhood Tour, a movement “committed to awakening the consciousness of men, giving them the keys to manhood and teaching them how to live it in the highest degree.”
