I’m excited to share this new #SingleGoals2020 feature! Not only is he our first guy in the series so far, Derick C. from Houston, Texas has been a Day 1 supporter of BLISS for some time! This single man is sharing his growth and single season goals with us in this new interview below:
BLISS: Share how you are making the most out of your singleness:
Derick: “It’s been an up and down journey for me as I’ve learned to accept and embrace my season of singleness. I’ve always had a marriage mindset since high school, but I’m thankful that I hadn’t gotten married around that time in my life. It’s tough during certain times of the year when you’re single, but I remind myself that God has me single for a purpose.”
“No one’s perfect, but you do need a solid foundation in your identity and I’m thankful for that work that God has been doing in my life as of late.”
BLISS: What is one piece of advice that you would like to share with other singles?
D: “Remember who you are and Whose you are. It’s easy to get caught up and distracted by the ways of the world if you’re not basking in His presence on a daily basis.”
BLISS: What are you currently doing in ministry or for the Kingdom of God?
D: “I’m the Pastors’ son, so I’m pretty much on call for whatever is needed. Officially, I work with the youth of my church as the youth minister.”
BLISS: Anything else that you’d like to share with us?
D: “I can’t stress enough the importance of finding your identity in Christ. More of Him, less of you!”
