Just a short distance from the nation’s capital, we’re spending some time in Woodbridge, Virginia to chat with Erica W. This single woman of God is in her early 30s going full-throttle after Jesus and her purpose in this season. Read more about Erica in our interview below:
BLISS: Share how you are making the most out of your singleness:
Erica W: “I’m making the most out of my singleness by growing in my relationship with Christ and my family/friends; honing my spiritual gifts and talents to bring God glory; sharing my life’s journey with others; mentoring youth and young adult women; and being intentional in setting aside time to work on myself and experience things that I genuinely enjoy.”
“Last October, I went on my first international solo trip to my dream destination-Greece. I was originally supposed to go with a friend; however, plans changed and I decided to go alone. It was an amazing experience filled with memories that I will never forget.”
BLISS: What is one piece of advice that you would like to share with other singles?
EW: “One piece of advice that I would like to share with singles is to avoid putting your life on hold waiting for the prospect of marriage. Whether it’s buying a house, going on a vacation, picking up a new hobby, or trying out a new fancy restaurant, pursue your goals and embrace your singleness as you seek to honor God in this season.”
BLISS: What are you currently doing in ministry or for the Kingdom of God?
EW: “Through Journey to Purity®, I equip youth and young adults with tools to obtain freedom from strongholds, learn how to study God’s Word, develop an intimate relationship with Christ, receive greater understanding of God’s purpose for their lives, and gain a community of support among like-minded believers. At my local church, I serve in Leadership, the Rooted Young Adult Ministry, and the Music and Ministry Arts.”
BLISS: What project or business do you want to share with the BLISSforSingles audience?
EW: “I’d like to share my book, “Don’t Give Up.” More than just a book on encouragement, “Don’t Give Up” is filled with actual tools to help you sit quietly before the Lord and hear what He is speaking to you. Each day, you’ll find a Scripture meditation, a relevant story to encourage you, a prayer to build your trust in God and questions to strengthen your faith as you remain committed to walking out His uniquely designed path for your life. It is available on Amazon, Kindle, and my personal website: ericanwilliams.com.”
BLISS: Anything else that you’d like to share with us?
EW: “I’m not saying that I have this all together, that I have it made. But I am well on my way, reaching out for Christ, who has so wondrously reached out for me. Friends, don’t get me wrong: By no means do I count myself an expert in all of this, but I’ve got my eye on the goal, where God is beckoning us onward—to Jesus. I’m off and running, and I’m not turning back.” Philippians 3:13-14 MSG
